In the middle of all the excitement and enjoyment of your wedding day, foot pain is something that you expect the least. Well, it’s not easy to wear shoes constantly for 10-12 hours a day and that too with standing, dancing or moving around. However, it is not even a matter of worry. If this is the problem that is bothering you the most then there is also a solution to it.

We, the team of Lookbook Bride, is here to help. We share you some useful tips on managing your feet and your shoes on the big day to avoid the pain. Give it a good read.

Choose a Pair of Shoes that Offers a Perfect Fit

“I have made a huge mistake on my wedding day. I was an avid dancer indeed, and my feet just did not stop on the day. But, the shoes I picked were too snug, and that made my feet swell. I was badly hurt by the end of the day!”

– shared by our newlywed customer Bianca.

There are two possible solutions to this problem. Either you buy a pair one or two inches bigger than your actual size, or you pick a pair that has cushioning feature. Also, check the arch support of the shoes. Here is another tip – try to elevate your feet whenever you get the chance to minimise the swelling.

Buy Two Pairs of Wedding Shoes

Well, don’t think that it will be a waste of money. You can pick a pair of shoes that feature different heel sizes. It’s okay to have a fantasy like walking down the aisle looking tall and elegant wearing those Jimmy Choo stilettos.

Although, the ideal size for wedding shoes is not more than 2 inches, but you can wear taller heels if you wish. Just buy another pair in that case that features smaller heels. That way, you might not have to face the discomfort.

Look for Maximum Ankle Support

If you really want to avoid the situation when your friends and bridesmaid are rubbing ice pack on your swollen feet, then look for bridal shoes that offer maximum ankle support.

Going for a bit of thicker heels or supportive back straps will be great for your feet. Also, make sure, the shoes are made of breathable leather instead of any other material.

Keep the Venue Surface in Mind

Well, you certainly don’t want to fell on your face on the venue surface and get injured. If you walk down the aisle full of marbles and gravels on the pathway wearing sharp stilettos, you are sure to fall. Same goes for the beach wedding. You can’t wear heels in that case too.

Manage the Blisters

“My shoes were good enough and expensive, but the blisters! Those certainly gave me a hard time. I really did not know how to manage the growing pain, and finally, I got my feet badly hurt by the end of the day.” – shared by Olivia, one of our Melbourne based customers.

You certainly don’t want to experience the same thing happening to you. There is an easy way to avoid this problem. Just keep talcum powder or deodorant in your toilet and use it whenever needed. It’s all about keeping your feet dry and this remedy will undoubtedly give you some relief from blisters.

Final Words

Don’t forget to bring your pair of bridal shoes at the dress fitting. Check out whether the shoes are actually going well with your wedding gown or not. It’s quite necessary to avoid a complete unwanted mismatch. Even if you dance the entire evening, your feet will not hurt. That’s what we also wish for you. Choose wisely.
